Circular table saws are in comparison to hand- or plunge saws mainly used for stationary work. The table saw allows, through various fixed stops straight and precise cuts. These saws consist of a stable table mostly made from metal. Out of a slit of the table top about 40 % of the diameter of the saw blade sticks out. In comparison to the jigsaw you can't do any curved cuts with the table saw. Many big manufacturers like Festool, Mafell and Makita install divers protection mechanisms in the table saws to avoid serious injuries. If you work with a table saw you should in principle pay attention to protective work wear like safety glasses and safety gloves.
