The difference between the plunge saw and a classic circular hand saw is that the plunge saw can plunge into the work material in any point of the material. This offers great advantages in many fields of the installation. A good example for it's use is when you set the kitchen sink into the counter-top. An other difference is that the housing of the plunge saw nearly fully covers the saw blade. The closed housing allows an effective suction of the sawdust. For that reason there isn't any problem to saw in occupied rooms.
