A cordless electric screwdriver you can find nowadays in nearly every household. It's the most popular cordless electric tool. A cordless electric screwdriver is a tool to insert screws. It often is equipped with a slip coupling. The slip coupling prevents an engine damage by disconnecting the engine from the work spindle and with that the engine spins freely, when the maximum torque is reached. Since 2003 many electric screwdrivers are equipped with Li- Ion batteries. With this the screwing is easier, more compact and has a longer battery life in comparison to the outdated battery-technic NiCd or NiMH. This ones are clearly more transient, heavier and have despite big design a shorter battery life.
For different application areas there are special designs, for example a bending shape model for inaccesssible spots, the small compact pen-shaped model for easy assembly work and the most common pistol shape model.
